Brandy Dowdy, ARNP, PMHNP-BC has undergone academic and clinical training to become proficient in the diagnosis and treatment of mental health disorders. She earned a Masters of Science Degree in Nursing with a concentration in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from the University of Alabama along with national board certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Her experiences include beginning as a bedside registered nurse in a trauma care unit, staff nursing in a variety of specialities, including psychiatry and behavioral health, and hospital quality management and regulatory compliance advising. She has always enjoyed listening to patients’ stories and finds work in psychiatry to be purposeful, meaningful, and fulfilling after successfully treating patients with various mental health concerns.
